At Kanfit, we believe that it is our responsibility to reduce our environmental footprint for the benefit of future generations. From the time it was established, Kanfit has been taking the environment into consideration in all areas of activity.
In 2017, Kanfit came in second place in the Social and Environmental Leadership awards in Northern Israel from the Manufacturers Association of Israel—Northern Region (see photo below).
By leveraging our composite structures technologies, Kanfit’s customers in the aerospace industry are able to build lighter weight structures, thereby reducing fuel consumption and decreasing carbon emissions.
Kanfit is committed to recycling water, paper, metal scraps, lubricants, packaging and other materials. We recycle what we can internally, while other materials are transferred to recycling stations or are disposed of according to the strictest standards. Kanfit generates no industrial sewage.
When we built our painting chamber, we installed a dry air filter system instead of a water based filtration system, which at the time was the most popular and the least expensive system on the market. We chose the dry air filter system despite its high cost because it is considered environmentally friendly. Used paint filters are packed and sent to disposal facilities without contaminating or wasting any valuable water resources.
During the planning stages of Kanfit's chemical coating line, it was clear from the start that nothing would be dumped into the sewage. The system was designed so that all water used in the line is fully recycled and returned to the line. Toxic residues are collected in special containers and shipped to a recycling facility where the remaining water is extracted and the chemicals and metals are recycled from the waste.
Kanfit uses the most advanced CAD/CAM software available, so that the work we perform for our customers is completely paperless.
When Kanfit moved into its new state-of-the-art facility, energy saving climate control and lighting systems were installed in order to reduce energy consumption and carbon footprint.
